Your Life History in 20 Questions: Q15 & Q16

Q15: What are some careers you do NOT want to pursue? What is it about these jobs, as you perceive them, that turn you off? What is your source of knowledge about these careers?

I’m not interested in managing bodily fluids of any kind. So not emergency medicine of any kind, general nursing, doctoring or dentistry. I am 100% sure of that.

How do I know? I have been a camp counselor, camp director and I am a parent and have managed many fluids. I do not like it.

Q16: Do you have long term career goals that you know you wish to achieve?

Is retiring a career goal? I’d love to be retired. I’d love to go to doctor appointments without having to worry about the time I need to take off from work to accommodate them. I want to be able to go to the doctor and not feel like I am letting someone down by not being present. I want to feel financially comfortable when I retire, so…back to work I go.

But more seriously, I’d love to find a job that allows me to learn and grow. A career where I am appreciated for my skills and my time. Where I can go to the doctor and feel like I’m not letting anyone down by not being present. I know I enjoy organizing and helping others. As far as a specific career, I’m 45…I think I’ve given up on finding the ‘dream job’.
